These air filters stop 99.97 of particles down to 0.3 microns. This may mean nothing too you but a human hair is 10 microns and dust and pollen is around 1 to 4 microns in size. So it will catch things even smaller than what you are going after. Most regular HEPA-like or HEPA-type are not real HEPA air filters and these are the ones you find at WALMART. You can guess how good most of those are. generally they stop 90 of particles down to 1 micron which may sound good but when you barely see a change in your problem you will start thinking what the problem is.Finally if you want some real cleaning of dust pollen pet dander mold spores and hazardous VOCs two good air purifier companies are IQ Air and Austin Air. Their room air purifiers start at around 400 dollars but for good reason. Many people don t have air quality problems this bad in their home to justify this purchase but if you want to see a difference this will do it. For reference the IQ Air purifier s air filter stops 98.5 of particles down to 0.03 microns in size.
